Night before a day that’s bright

dreams poetry

Dreams dying

Under the lost perch

Birds crashing without batting a wing

Fungus growing in a circular ring

The sound of tiny footsteps

Hoping for a better day

Wanted just to play

Scared of the measly time they get

Sun tired ending its shift early

Moon oversleeping the day and night blur

Pitch black all across the sky

Nightfall crashing left and right

Neighborhoods and acres of no light

Courts now closed because of the dark

Balls stopped bouncing and lost in the park

The end of light has just begun

Darkness now spread from zero to one
